Managing Maintenance Error

One of the most critical areas of human work on major hazard sites, and yet, one of the most overlooked from a Human Factors perspective. The more automated a site is and the more we rely on engineered control measures, the more important it is to understand how human error in Maintenance, Inspection and Testing activities can be controlled. This course focuses on appropriate techniques for assessing human reliability in maintenance, inspection, and testing activities, and how to manage common Performance Influencing Factors in maintenance tasks.

This course addresses Topic 1.2 Human Reliability during Maintenance, Inspection and Testing of the HSE’s Human Factors Operational Delivery Guide.
